Local Government working with Schools

In 2006 the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) formed a partnership with the Local Government and Shires Associations (LGSA) to develop and promote good practices for local government in working with schools, the outcomes of this project forms the basis of the material on this website.

Sustainability Education Program

In 2007 an Environmental Trust grant expanding the Local Government Working with Schools project to create a Sustainability Education Program for local government educators working with all their communities as they move towards sustainability will be undertaken. The project aims to increase the quality and quantity of environmental education programs that local government develops with and for their communities and to maximise the environmental outcomes of these programs.
